The store specializes in Japanese furniture, screens and lamps, Chinese antiques, and statues from all over Asia. It recently received a shipment of furnishings and accessories from Korea, China and Vietnam.
In addition to the sale, Asian Essence is celebrating almost a year at its Division Street location (it was formerly at 2025 1/2 W. North Ave.).
“The move has meant more visibility,” says owner Douglas Stein, who lived in Hong Kong and Singapore for several years before opening the Asian home-furnishings store in 2001.
