The first night of Steven Spielberg’s six-week series about the American frontier, “Into the West,” scored boffo ratings for TNT on Friday, the network said.
Together, the 7 and 9 p.m. telecasts of the two-hour premiere, “Wheel to the Stars,” starring Matthew Settle and Skeet Ulrich, delivered 9.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. The 7 p.m. showing notched 6.5 million viewers, making it cable’s most-watched entertainment program this year, TNT says. During prime time, TNT outperformed ABC, CBS, Fox, UPN, and the WB, says TNT.
