Michael Jordan may be the most famous Chicagoan since Al Capone, but Canadian politicians look to Chicago and say, “I wanna be like Rich.”
Daley will travel to Toronto this week to teach the mayor of Canada’s largest city “how to leverage power, ” as the Toronto Star put it.
“Daley knows how to be a leader. I can learn from that,” Toronto Mayor David Miller told the newspaper. “And he’s very astute at manoeuvring through the American political system. He’s strategic, tactical, smart and tough.”
Toronto officials plan to take Daley on a boat ride on Lake Ontario to learn about how their waterfront can become more like Chicago’s vibrant shoreline.
