I was appalled to see the White Sox in the column headed “Worst team to root for” (Tribune, April 27). I could take the unnamed writer to a number of establishments and homes where the Sox are welcome on the TV and in conversations.

It is true that Sox fans are more apt to warm up to a winning effort as we have this year. But unfortunately, many of the years past have wound down to second place. I think this team is an exciting one if it can stay healthy, with better pitching, fielding and speed. And I’m fine with Hawk Harrelson.
