Starting Sunday, we’re turning off the phone, locking the front door, donning our comfy sweats and hunkering down in front of the TV. There’s so much great stuff on in May, we just can’t afford any unnecessary distractions. Here’s a list of the finales, specials and premieres that we’re most excited about:

“Family Guy”
8 p.m. Sunday, Fox
You just can’t kill “Family Guy,” which was canceled by Fox three years ago, then sold more than 3.5 million DVD boxed sets, a development that prompted Fox to bring the animated comedy back from the TV grave.
“Survivor: Palau” finale
7 p.m. May 15, CBS
“Survivor: Palau” had a typically blah first few episodes, but things livened up as the hapless Ulong tribe failed to win a single challenge and was whittled down to one member. The smart money is on photogenic firefighter Tom from the Kuror tribe to win, but as we’ve seen before, anything can happen on “Survivor.”
“Britney and Kevin” premiere
8 p.m. May 17, UPN
Is Britney Spears’ relationship with backup-dancer-turned-hubby-turned-baby-daddy Kevin Federline skanky (i.e., really, really gross) or skeezy (i.e., just kind of icky)? We’ve wondered that for months, and finally, this reality series may provide the answer. The short-run series promises to be mighty, uh, intimate, considering Mr. and Mrs. Federline shot much of the footage themselves.
“American Idol” vs. “Lost”
7 p.m. May 25, Fox and ABC
May’s biggest showdown is between Fox and ABC on this night. Fox will air a two-hour “Idol” finale, which will no doubt be stuffed with filler. On ABC, we’ll be glued to the two-hour finale of “Lost” because we’re dying to find out the deal with that beastie in the forest, among other things.
“Chappelle’s Show” premiere
9 p.m. May 31, Comedy Central
“Chappelle’s Show” finally returns, and while we don’t think Dave Chappelle will be reprising his wickedly funny Rick James impersonation, we know we’ll be repeating some catchphrase from the show minutes after the season premiere ends.
