Nothing says romance like serenading the boy or girl of your dreams with a sweet song. MTV will give young lover-singers the chance to woo in a new series with a less-than-romantic title: “Score.”
Singer Ryan Cabrera–Ashlee Simpson’s ex–will host the show, in which two aspiring songwriters will write a tune designed to win the heart of a guy or girl. Cabrera and his band will help arrange the songs, and each contestant will perform it. The songs will be available to download on MTV’s Web site.
The object of the writers’ affections will then choose a winner based on the quality of the song. He or she won’t see the winner until the contest is over. MTV has ordered 20 episodes of the show, which will likely debut in the fall.
