After just one college season at cornerback, Hubbard High graduate Kelvin Hayden of Illinois was drafted in the second round (No. 60 overall) by Indianapolis. “I’m overwhelmed, overwhelmed,” Hayden said. “I feel I’m just getting my feet wet at corner.” Hayden was named the national junior-college offensive player of the year as a receiver for Joliet Community College in 2002. Illinois coach Ron Turner, now the Bears’ offensive coordinator, moved him to cornerback last spring. “He’s a sharp guy who understands how the game’s played,” Colts coach Tony Dungy said of Hayden.
