Lurie Garden in Chicago’s Millennium Park will be in the spotlight this summer, with three days of lectures, tours and performances scheduled.

The park, the city’s Department of Cultural Affairs and the Chicago Park District said Monday the program, to run from July 8-10, is to include talks by landscape architects and horticulturists, musicand dance, and plant sales.

Separately, the park said it hired Colleen Schuetz as the garden’s first head horticulturist. Schuetz most recently was a senior horticulturist at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe.
