It’s no longer enough to cook a good steak, apparently.

In addition to serving as the chef de cuisine at Aria, 200 N. Columbus Drive, Brad Parsons dispenses relationship advice via his online alter ego–The Love Chef. So we at the Guy Page decided to test him out with the following (anonymous) quandary:

“Dear Love Chef,

“Rather than going out to eat, I like to make romantic meals for my girlfriend. She thinks it’s because I’m too cheap to pay for a nice meal. I insist that eating Stouffers dinners at home is more heartfelt. She has threatened to leave me. Your advice?”

In his reply e-mail, Parsons refrained from calling us cheapskates, offered some Dr. Phil-esque couples counseling, then provided his recipe for grilled hamachi with bonaito puree, whatever that is.

Since January, Parsons, 31, has sated hundreds of hungry hearts from around the country–from vegetarians in love with meat eaters, to spouses whose romance has developed mold.

“I take food and use it as a form of therapy,” he said. “Recipes can be like relationships–two things coming together.”

The Love Chef is qualified, he believes, because of his happy marriage. (And who knows more about romance than husbands, right?) He states that “the way a man handles his food is the way he handles his love life.” But then, you’d expect a professionally trained cook to say that.

If you love love or simply like grilled hamachi with bonaito puree, whatever that is, write Parsons at [email protected]. He’ll reply with a message that just might spice up your love life.
