Musician Jimmy Buffett may symbolize the laid-back lifestyle, but his image took a hit last week when a City Council committee considered a proposal to permit two Buffett concerts at Wrigley Field in September.

Ald. Richard Mell (33rd) quipped that the performances will be “for old people like me.” Mell is 66.

The colorful Mell–who caught Buffett once at an Alpine Valley concert–jokingly talked about the economic opportunity that could come with his visit.

“I was wondering about the possibility to get the tequila concession at that event,” he said.
