Everyone who comes to Wrigleyville does not have to love or even know Kerry Wood or Carlos Zambrano. So, enjoy the North Side neighborhood on a Saturday night without the pressure of memorizing the Cubs roster.

9 p.m.: Have a Mardi Gras experience at Heaven on Seven (3478 N. Clark St., 773-477-7818). Chef Jimmy Bannos’ flair for Louisiana cooking is evident in his gumbo, which is served at all Heaven locations. It is available as a side with most entrees, but is pretty good as the main course with a plain or jalapeno cheddar muffin.

Gumbo and corn muffins for two: $14.61.

10:30 p.m.: The night stays spicy with some hot Jamaican dancehall across the street at Exedus II (3477 N. Clark St., 773-348-3998). Exedus II has been doing live and deejay reggae and dancehall in Wrigleyville since 1986. On Saturdays, bands Dub Dis or Indika regularly perform as well as special guests.

Cover charge for two: $20.

Midnight: ImprovOlympic (3541 N. Clark St., 773-880-0199) is the improv mecca, where many nationally known comedians got their early training. At the Improv Jam, the audience makes the show by playing improv games such as Frying Pan and Doo Wop. Some jokes hit and others miss, but all participants are applauded for having the nerve to get up on stage in the first place.

Show tickets for two: $6.

Grand total: $40.61.
