Playing the frantic mother of four is no sweat for Felicity Huffman of “Desperate Housewives.”
With two toddlers at home, “I’m pushed to my limits many times during the day,” she said. “I find that motherhood is not the panacea of wonderfulness that it’s been lauded to be.”
As Lynette Scavo, Huffman, 42, spends most of her time trying not to murder her screaming kids. She lives in baggy clothes and doesn’t wear makeup, which suits Huffman just fine.
Being a mom “is incredibly difficult,” Huffman said. “You lose yourself. It’s boring a lot of the time. You feel bad. You’re guilty. … The bill of goods they sell you is that it’s the most wonderful thing you ever do in your life. It’s true, but that’s just the icing on the cake.”
