In Hollywood, pilot season continues in full force:
– UPN gave the green light to the comedy pilot “Friends in the AM,” from Courteney Cox and David Arquette’s production company. The pilot focuses on the work and home lives of three female morning radio hosts. Arquette also is slated to star in a WB pilot that he will executive produce with Cox.
– UPN also is considering a pilot based on the British series “20 Things to Do Before You’re 30,” in which a group of twentysomethings create a list of things they want to accomplish before the decade is over.
– Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson (“Rain Man”) will direct the pilot for CBS’ “3 Lbs.,” about a group of brain surgeons.
– Orlando Jones and Oscar-winner Martin Landau will make for a wacky buddy cop team in the ABC drama pilot “Evidence.” It focuses on two homicide detectives (Jones and Landau) who assemble evidence and then reconstruct crimes.
