A man was shot and killed Saturday in Riverdale near the site of a fatal shooting the day before.

Police identified the victim of Saturday’s shooting as Michael Lloyd, 35, of Markham.

Officers responding to a report of gunfire found Lloyd’s body on the front porch of a home in the 14000 block of Tracy Avenue. He had been shot several times, Riverdale police said in a news release.

Lloyd’s slaying took place a block away from where Joseph Hill, 24, of Riverdale was shot Friday afternoon near his home at 141st Street and Tracy.

In Chicago, a 20-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after he was severely beaten during a fight with a member of a rival gang on the South Side, police said. Two other men, who belonged to the victim’s gang, were shot during the fight and were recovering, police said.

The fight took place at 2:38 a.m. during a party at a home in the 9400 block of South Throop Street, said police spokeswoman JoAnn Taylor. The fight erupted outside after a gang member was turned away at the door when he tried to get in, Taylor said.

One of the three victims, a 24-year-old man who was shot in the neck, was in stable condition at Little Company of Mary Hospital. A second man, 20, was in fair condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center with a wound in his back, Taylor said. The man who was beaten was sent there as well.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy was shot several times early Sunday in the 5700 block of South Western Avenue, police spokesman Carlos Herrera said.

He was in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, Herrera said.
