Firms to review building codes

Village officials approved hiring two firms to assist in reviewing building codes for hotels and conference center structures.

Schaumburg-based Archiplan International Ltd. will review the existing codes and compare them to similar guidelines in nearby communities.

Some village officials have said Orland Park’s codes are stricter than those in neighboring comminutes.

Georgia-based firm Rolf Jensen & Associates was approved to examine the building codes and look into safety issues.
