Western Illinois finished its season with a 4-7 record, 2-5 in the Gateway Conference after the Leathernecks lost 45-3 to playoff-bound Western Kentucky on Saturday.

Still, the field goal that enabled them to avoid a shutout was noteworthy.

The 53-yard kick matched the longest in the career of senior Justin Langan.

It also enabled Langan to close his career with a record of scoring in all 47 games in which he played.

Tailback Travis Glasford was another Leatherneck who had productive numbers in a losing season.

His 16 carries at Western Kentucky increased to 699 the number of carries in his career, breaking the record of 692 set in 1997-98 by Aaron Stecker, who went on to play in the NFL.

Glasford also caught 46 passes, third highest in the Gateway, and his 84 points ranked second in the conference in scoring.
