Joseph Arthur
Our Shadows Will Remain
That Joseph Arthur’s last album “Redemption’s Son” probably ended up on more year-end lists than it ended up actually played in stereos is a travesty, but that hasn’t slowed down the songwriter. However, “Our Shadows Will Remain” apparently follows a pretty depressed period in Arthur’s life, reflected by a change in record labels and an even darker change in the tone of his music. But even at their bleakest, “Can’t Exist,” “Devil’s Broom,” “Echo Park” and “Puppets” are bound to connect with whomever gives them a chance.
