Korn
Greatest Hits Vol. 1
Korn’s greatest claim to hard-rock supremacy has been its relentless, bludgeoning aggression. So it comes as no surprise that so many of its half-recognizable hits on this collection suffer from some sameness. The brick-to-the-head qualities that make “Right Now” and “A.D.I.D.A.S.” fun are nearly identical to the pummeling attributes of “Falling Away from Me” and “Freak On A Leash,” songs so rife with alienation that the rage-against-the-world shtick begins to feel like an act. Thankfully, Korn has lightened the load a little with two new covers of Cameo’s “Word Up” and Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall.”
Take away: Same old song
