Falling somewhere between punk and garage rock, the third album from Hot Snakes doesn’t offer much downtime to ruminate on the differences between the two genres. From “Braintrust” onward, the disc is full of angular riffs colliding at breakneck speed, laced with Rick Froberg’s lacerating scream/shout. In other words, more great maximum rock ‘n’ roll from an outfit that seems incapable of offering anything less.
