Fox has signed Johnny Messner, one of the stars of “Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid,” to a talent holding deal.
The network intends to build a show around Messner, likely a drama. This past development season, Messner toplined Fox’s “Ricochet” pilot.
“We thought he was fantastic,” Marcia Schulman, executive vice president of casting at Fox, told The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s a real man’s man. He’s a totally fresh face, he is really sexy, and he is very really sweet and funny under this seemingly gruff exterior.”

The actor’s credits include testosterone-heavy films such as “Spartan,” “Tears of the Sun” and “Operation Delta Force 4: Deep Fault.”
Since its early-fall release, “Anacondas” has made nearly $31 million at the domestic box office. Fox has already nabbed another of the film’s stars, Nicholas Gonzalez, for an arc on “The O.C.”
