Mouse On Mars

Radical Connector

It takes a certain kind of sensibility to give electronic music some soul–too often those bleeps and bloops are simply chilly. Mouse On Mars’ Andi Toma and Jan St. Werner are two of the good guys, injecting their alien productions with just enough personality to make them breath, swing and laugh. “Spaceship” feels like it’s about to implode as often as it’s about to transform into a pop ditty (it ultimately does neither). “Wipe That Sound” is as playful as Basement Jaxx, while “Send Me Shivers” sounds downright sexy and sensual, proving that as much as Toma and St. Werner enjoy subverting expectations, they’ve never forgotten the simple pleasures of pop music.
