Friday’s scheduled performance by Oscar-winning actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg at the Chicago Theatre has been canceled. There was no reason given for scrapping the stand-up comedy show by Goldberg, who won a best supporting actress Academy Award for 1990’s “Ghost.” Refunds are available at point of purchase.

Goldberg’s NBC sitcom was canceled this year, and her gig as a spokesperson for a weight-loss company ended after she made risque fun of President Bush. She is scheduled to revive her career-making 1984 one-woman show “Whoopi” on Broadway beginning Nov. 6.
