Sitcom veterans Christine Baranski and Barry Bostwick will try to bring a little magic to Fox’s midseason comedy “Spellbound.”
Baranski, most recently of NBC’s “Happy Family,” and Bostwick (“Spin City”) have signed on to play the parents of a male witch (Dave Annable, “Little Black Book”), the Hollywood trade papers report. The show, a sort of gender-reversed “Bewitched,” centers on Annable’s character, who must decide whether to keep his supernatural powers after falling for a mortal woman (Maggie Lawson, “It’s All Relative”).
“Spellbound,” from “Frasier” veterans Rob Greenberg and Suzanne Martin, was originally developed at NBC in 2003. Fox rescued the Warner Bros. TV project from development purgatory earlier this year.
