Minnesota plays in the Metrodome, which ex-Bears coach Mike Ditka dubbed as the Rollerdome and it is legendary for its deafening crowd noise. But NU doesn’t plan any adjustments Saturday night to deal with the sound problem that can make it difficult to hear the quarterback’s signals.

“Coach (offensive coordinator Mike) Dunbar is a firm believer that you can hear everywhere,” quarterback Brett Basanez said. “But I don’t think it’s going to play that much of a factor.”

“If Brett’ll raise his voice,” added tackle Trai Essex tongue-in-cheek, “we’ll be OK.” . . .

Linebacker Braden Jones is expected to be readmitted to school this week and could rejoin the team soon. Jones left school last spring after being accused of assaulting a cab driver. The charges were dropped, but the Wildcats suspended him through the start of the fall quarter.
