The Clash
London Calling: Legacy Edition
No household should be without a copy of The Clash’s “London Calling,” whether on vinyl, cassette, CD or the recently remastered CD edition. Those most interested in the extra disc of demos, unreleased songs and alternate takes included in this edition–as well as a bonus making-of DVD–probably have all those old extras already, so the new disc will simply force the faithful and fanatics to add yet another copy of the classic to their collection. But are the new cuts, the DVD and the liner notes worth the extra cash? Of course they are: This is the Clash, one of the greatest bands of all time, and “London Calling” is one of the greatest albums of all time. So don’t complain; pass on your old copies to a sibling in need and just shell out the cash.
