Bobri threw for 234 yards on 8 of 16 passing with 1 TD on ground, while Murphy caught 6 passes for 198 yards. Kevin Conway rushed for 74 yards and 3 TDs for Marian Catholic (3-1, 1-1).

Nike Preview At Mother McAuley

Joliet Catholic defeated Rockton Hononegah 25-20, 25-19 in Silver Division title game. Angels (13-3) went 4-1 in tourney, led by Kelly Murphy (25 kills, 11 blocks), Samantha Quigley (19 kills, 26 digs), Joslyn Brown (17 kills, 22 digs) and Stephanie Budde (52 assists).

Peoria Notre Dame Invitational

Palatine’s Glenn Morris led 4 Pirates into top 10 and his team to victory at Detweiller Park. Morris covered 3-mile course in 14 minutes 56 seconds–12 seconds behind winner Sean Houseworth of Eureka. Naperville North, paced by Shannon Phelan’s 3rd-place finish, took girls title over Lincoln-Way East. Katelyn Bastert, last year’s state Class A champion from Carthage, won individual title in 17:03–24 seconds ahead of Palatine’s Amy Laskowske.

New Trier Invitational

Perry O’Malley and Marcy Strumpfler teamed to win at 3rd doubles, boosting Lake Forest to team title. Scouts also got strong performances from Marissa Lambropoulos (3rd place, 1st singles), Mandy Workman (2nd place, 2nd singles) and Whitney Block and Brianna Kearney (2nd place, 1st doubles). Sam Kintzel of Libertyville won 1st singles. Taylor Martin and Jennifer Schwartzkopf of Hinsdale Central won 1st doubles.
