Rilo Kiley
More Adventurous
More Top Picks Samsung Galaxy Watch Review
If Rilo Kiley hits the mainstream, it will be singer Jenny Lewis who takes them there. Unfortunately, “More Adventurous” shoves her voice way up front, loud and clear, which not only robs it of its mystery but also lays bare the sometimes dubious lyrics of “It’s a Hit,” “The Absence of God” and “I Never.” On the plus side, the band’s melodies are stronger than ever, with “Portions for Foxes,” “Accidental Deth” and “Love and War (11/11/46)” quirky, radio-ready standouts.
