Bears obtain Pittsburgh’s first-round draft choice in 1965, which turns out to be the third pick in the draft, for second- and fourth-round picks in 1964. Bears select Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus.
2. 1978
Bears send injured defensive tackle Wally Chambers to Tampa Bay for a first-round pick in 1979. It turns out to be the fourth pick in the draft, and the Bears take Hall of Fame defensive lineman Dan Hampton.
3. 1981
Fearing that NFC Central rival Minnesota was about to draft Mike Singletary, the Bears give San Francisco a fifth-round pick to move up in the second round to draft the Hall of Fame middle linebacker.
4. 1955
In a preseason deal, the Bears acquire Hall of Fame defensive end Doug Atkins and QB Ken Grogal from Cleveland for third- and sixth-round picks in the 1956 draft. Atkins helps Bears to 1963 NFL title.
5. 1961
Bears obtain QB back Bill Wade from the Los Angeles Rams for quarterback Zeke Bratkowski and running back Erich Barnes. Two years later, the Bears win the NFL title behind Wade.
6. 1982
Bears trade their second-round pick to Tampa Bay for a 1983 first-rounder. They draft wide receiver Willie Gault, a key player on the Super Bowl XX championship team.
