The Bolingbrook Village Board this week approved a request by Duke Realty Ltd. International to subdivide 42 acres in the Joliet Business Park at the northeast corner of Old Chicago Road and Stevenson Drive.

The developer plans to split the property into three portions. The first lot will contain about 20 acres with an existing warehouse on the property occupied by Guinness UDV. A second, 12-acre lot is slated for an office or warehouse, and the third lot will contain about 9 acres for a future industrial development.

Trustees also approved a $43,990 contract with Chicago-based Soodan & Associates for engineering services to improve a pond in Central Park. The engineering for the site is expected to begin this fall with construction expected in late spring. Excavation will enlarge the pond and relieve some flooding in the area, according to Mayor Roger Claar.

The Village Board also approved a liquor license for a Joe’s Crab Shack that will locate in the village’s new restaurant row along Weber Road.
