With ratings that started out low and haven’t improved, Fox may be ready to hang “The Jury.”

The network says it’s moving the courtroom drama, which previously aired at 8 p.m. Tuesday with an encore on Friday, to Friday nights exclusively. The change will take effect this week; encore presentations have been wiped out.

In a worse sign for the show, the Hollywood trade papers report that production on “The Jury” has stopped. Five completed episodes remain, and Fox plans to air them all. But the shutdown of filming is almost always a bad sign for a show’s future.

“The Jury,” which follows a trial from the perspective of deliberating jurors, has averaged only about 4 million viewers in its first four weeks. Its ratings among adults 18 to 49, the demographic prized by advertisers, have been meager too.

Comedy repeats, including those of new shows “Method & Red” and “Quintuplets,” will fill the 8 p.m. Tuesday spot this week and July 20. Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game is scheduled for July 13.
