This is Where We Live
With Fountains of Wayne–and therefore one third of Ivy (Adam Schlesinger) –suddenly busy, it’s no surprise that Andy Chase and Dominique Durand (the rest of Ivy) decided to concentrate on their side project Paco. Paco’s full-length debut shares a similarly sophisticated cosmo-pop vibe with Ivy, a given considering Durand’s breathy, French-accented voice. The X-factor here is multi-instrumentalist Michael Hampton, who gets sole writing credit on a few songs and shares the rest. He brings a slightly jazzy, slinkier edge, making this the perfect soundtrack to future VW ads and Gap shopping across America.
