The “American Idol” phenomenon strikes again. Kimberley Locke’s first album, which combines pop, rock and R&B, is upbeat, catchy and forgettable. Listeners already know she’s the nice girl with a great voice, and the album offers nothing more. And, like the show, she’s singing songs written by someone else. “You’ve Changed,” the one song co-written by Locke, laments a less “lovey-dovey” relationship with the man who “used to call every hour on the hour” but now acts “like we ain’t even together.” Nothing original here.
Take away: Same old song
