Patti Smith

Trampin’

Patti Smith’s ninth album tackles the state of the world, and she’s pretty PO’d. It would be nice if songs like “Ghandi,” “Peaceable Kingdom” and “Radio Baghdad” weren’t so oblique, but Smith has a reputation as a poet to uphold. Besides, only people with their fingers in their ears wouldn’t get the message.
