The DuPage County Forest Preserve District on Tuesday increased its holdings with the acquisition of approximately 8 acres adjacent to Warrenville Grove Forest Preserve in Warrenville.
The district paid $1.6 million for the land, which faces Winfield Road and is at the north end of the preserve.
According to district spokesman Bill Weidner, the land was considered especially desirable because it rounds out district holdings at Warrenville Grove and is across from St. James Farm, which eventually will become part of the forest preserve system.
