Patricia Filippelli of Downers Grove became the first resident to use a credit card to pay for a permit, map, copy of an ordinance or a fine as she paid $400 Tuesday for a permit for an attached garage on her home.
Visa, MasterCard and debit cards now will be accepted by the county’s Development and Environmental Concerns and Stormwater Departments under the measure approved by the County Board in February that was intended to make the county more customer-friendly.
