As we headed for my in-laws’ in Naperville, the significant other person in my car who shall remain nameless said she wanted to grab a soft drink at a drive-through once we hit town. Just off Interstate Highway 88, we found a Taco Bell, one of those cute older ones.
Turning into the driveway and heading around back, we noticed: Hark, no drive-through.
The significant other person said, “Well, keep driving, there’s got to be something around here.”
Being slightly older and apparently more fit than the significant other person, I parked, hiked all the way into the store from the parking lot, not even stopping along the way to rest, then emerged a minute or two later with the soft drink. Amazing what can be accomplished under extreme conditions.
