Seth Green has starred in movies and television shows opposite a talking bunny, a variety of vampires, a computer animated dog and Mike Myers. He’s also lent his voice to several animated shows. In short, Seth Green knows cartoons.
Fittingly, the 30-year-old actor is executive producing his own series for the Cartoon Network.
The cable network has given the green light to 20 episodes of the cartoon, which will feature iconic toys in a variety of satirical situations.
“It’s like ‘Saturday Night Live’ with toys instead of actors,” Green tells The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re ecstatic to be doing it with the Cartoon Network.”
Green created the untitled series with Matthew Senreich, editorial director of magazine publisher Wizard Entertainment. Cartoon Network hopes to have the Green series in its late-night Adult Swim block by October.
The former “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” co-star is currently in theaters in the new “Scooby-Doo” sequel. His voice can be heard in the Adult Swim favorite “The Family Guy.”
