Winning Days
One of the few pleasures of the Vines’ dire post-grunge debut “Highly Evolved” was listening to troubled singer Craig Nicholls struggle to keep it together. Unfortunately, Nicholls’ affectations could also be a big drag, as anyone who saw the band perform the same self-consciously sloppy sets will attest. “Winning Days” is even less noteworthy, with the waning band running mostly on the fumes of second-hand Nirvana and generic garage rock.
