Lamb
Between Darkness and Wonder
It’s a shame Lamb got lopped in with more traditional trip-hop acts such as Portishead, as the British duo went out of its way to set its music apart from the pack. Lamb’s fourth album doesn’t add too much to the Lamb lexicon, with singer Louise Rhodes still warbling eccentrically over production guru Andy Barlow’s down-tempo beats. One difference is the increased use of orchestration, but just as welcome are the handful of tracks that all but jettison the beats entirely in favor of minimal acoustic moodiness.
