The Present Lover

“Microhouse” sounds more like a brew of beer than a type of music, but the term makes sense after a few listens to Vladislav Delay, a.k.a. Luomo. Luomo’s music takes the euphoric beats of house music and strips them down to their barest essentials, often leaving little more than a minimal throb decorated with washes of spare melodies. Luomo’s second disc adds some more elements back into the equation, particularly cool but catchy male and female vocals. It’s 21st Century cyber-disco at its glossy, glitchy, sinuous best.
