Village to expand cemetery property

The Bolingbrook Village Board on Tuesday accepted the conveyance of Hillcrest Cemetery, located on the north side of Boughton Road adjacent to the village’s No. 3 fire station, and plans to expand the number of burial plots.

The cemetery was donated to the village.

The cemetery, active since the 1850s, currently has 1,452 burial plots, of which 613 are unoccupied. The village plans to expand the cemetery to the west onto a former public works building site and increase the number of plots by 1,152.
