The Naperville Plan Commission Wednesday reviewed a developer’s proposal to divide two lots on Hobson Road west of Wehrli Road into nine residential lots.
The project, called Cotswold Estates, involves rezoning the nearly 6 acres from single-family residential in DuPage County to an estate transition district to accommodate nine single-family homes on a cul-de-sac.
The developer, Cotswold Properties, also is requesting setback variances on three lots to let the cul-de-sac align with Evangelical Free Church’s entrance on the north side of the property.
During a separate public hearing, residents opposed developer James Shannahan’s proposal demolish a house at 7S681 Olesen Drive in Carriage Way Estates and subdivide the lot to build two houses. Many residents in the neighborhood said the plan was greedy and that it would not be in character with the rest of home sites in the subdivision.
Both issues will be discussed at public hearings on March 17.
