Kenny Chesney

When the Sun Goes Down

More Top Picks Best Programmable Medication Reminders For Seniors

Chesney’s last CD, “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems,” hit No. 1, and, with the accompanying concert tour, he became one of the format’s biggest stars. Given his position, it’s distressing that Chesney chooses to play it so safe here. This disc has blander–and some plain rotten–songs. The production is Nashville generic and, as such, radio-ready. It will maintain Chesney’s hot streak, but it doesn’t advance Chesney artistically or capture his reputed energy on stage.
