A developer’s proposal to build two two-story office buildings on 3 acres on the west side of Naperville Road just north of Danada Court was reviewed by the Naperville Plan Commission this week.

The plan for Prairie’s Edge Office Park involves razing two homes and rezoning the property for office use. The site is flanked by town homes to the south and single-family homes to the north and west.

Offices in each 25,000-square-foot building would be owner-occupied with a combined 169 parking spaces.

Residents opposed the project, citing concerns about traffic, property values and light pollution.

Commissioner Grant Wehrli questioned the need for more office space in that area of Naperville Road with several Lucent buildings sitting empty.

Commissioners continued the public hearing to March 3 and requested city staff to provide more history about the planning of the Naperville Road area north of Interstate Highway 88.
