Poster Children

No More Songs About Sleep And Fire

These punk-pop Champaign vets are doing a fine job of keeping up with the kids on their eighth album. Poster Children still know how to party, delivering a hard and fast wall of sound. Noisy but focused guitars, frantic rhythms and hyper vocals are kept in place by some Pixies-inspired backing vocals and an unstoppable melodic sensibility. Whether you call it new wave or post-punk or garage revival, this music will knock you into the mosh pit or onto the dance floor.

Take away: Shock wave
