Lisa Gerrard/Patrick Cassidy
Immortal Memory
Following two solo releases, Lisa Gerrard worked regularly on soundtracks, most recently “Whalerider.” No shock, then, that “Immortal Memory,” a collaboration with Irish composer Patrick Cassidy and Gerrard’s first non-soundtrack work in six years, sounds fit for the big screen. In fact, the occasional dips into ancient Aramaic feel like an audition for Mel Gibson’s controversial Jesus epic, and what do you know: Gerrard has recently signed up to score that one as well. “Immortal Memory” is a self-consciously sacred taste of what she has in store.
