Aimee Mann

Lost in Space Special Edition

The original single-disc version of Mann’s follow-up to “Bachelor 2” has been out for months, but it has been supplanted by an elegantly packaged two-CD special edition. Along with the original 11 songs, it adds 10 tracks and a video. Five Mann originals from the first disc are heard again in live renditions, and an argument could be made that the even more plaintive readings of “The Moth,” her oral argument with her own ambition, and “Real Bad News” are superior to the beautifully produced studio recordings.
