It’s not every day that mysterious identical twins make news — mysterious identical twins who live in a fortress on a tiny island, no less. But, perhaps even stranger is that Frederick and David Barclay, bidders for Conrad Black’s media holdings, are part of an eerie fraternity of identical twins who have worked closely together most of their lives:
-Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, former stars of “Full House” who created a successful film franchise, book series and clothing line.
– Leigh and Leslie Keno, antiques experts who appraise items for PBS’ “Antiques Road-show.”
-Ronnie and Reggie Kray, a famous gangster duo that ran roughshod over 1960s London.
-Kim and Kelley Deal, of the alternative rock band The Breeders.
-Kevin and Andrew Atherton, aerialists who perform an act together in Cirque du Soleil’s “Varekai.”
– Tia and Tamera Mowry, stars of the Disney Channel show “Sister Sister.”
-Evan and Jeremy Jaron Lowenstein, of the singer-songwriter duo Evan and Jaron.
-The Brothers Quay (Stephen and Timothy), filmmakers whose eccentric cinematic creations have a cult following.
-Dean and Dan Caten, fashionistas who created the hip clothing line Dsquared.
