In another installment of “Why didn’t someone think of this sooner?” we present ReWritables from the Lincolnshire-based Boone company.
They’re note-size, dry-erase magnets (ideal for the refrigerator door) that enable parents to leave a quick message for the kids (and vice versa) or even an emergency number for the baby sitter — sans all those tiny scraps of paper.
We like the idea of color-coding — assigning everyone his/her own hue, as each board comes with a color strip on its top (in blue, gray, green, yellow, purple or pink).
And, yes, there is a coordinating ReWritables Dry-Erase Marker, also magnetized and with a mini-eraser mounted on its cap.
Price: about $5 for a pack of six 3-by-3-inch ReWritables; about $8.50 for a pack of four in the 5-by-8-inch size. Find them at Office Depot stores or visit www.officedepot.com. The markers are $5 for a pack of six but will not be available in stores until early February.
