Canada’s latest import, 18-year-old Fefe Dobson, has been dubbed the Afro Avril. Judging by the attention she’s getting on MTV, a kid can go far these days with a pocketful of petulance and a facility for hooks. Dobson is struggling with her identity, but she wants to rock. The songs on her debut land somewhere between Bryan Adams and Blink-182. However, richer tracks, such as “Everything” and “Unforgiven,” show there’s more to her amps and attitude.
